Killer "Okeh" soul by this great group from the 60s!! The record covers both sides of The Vibrations' bag – from mellow moody vocal group standards, to uptempo groovers – of the sort that have always made the group a favorite with the Northern Soul scene! The album's a nice departure from the group's earlier work, as it shows them really locking in some great harmonies on the mellower cuts – but still able to really let loose when they want to! Titles include great versions of the cuts "Secret Love" and "Everybody Loves A Lover" – plus the tracks "Soul A Go Go", "Gonna Get Along Without You Now", "Forgive & Forget", and "For Your Love". CD features a whopping 10 bonus tracks – including "Cause You're Mine", "Remember The Rain", "Love In Them There Hills", "Talkin Bout Love", "End Up Crying", "Pick Me", and "You Better Beware".

Wow! This is really a beauty, and I didn't have any of this music before. What a fantastic group with a sound all their own. Is this really vintage 1966? Some of it sounds very 70s.
Absolutely fantastic... I paid a small fortune for a copy of "Love In Them There Hills" on 45. Why can't they reissue great music with such quality in America?!?! It's a conspiracy I tell you :)
Thanks for another top post, and thanks to all of those who dropped by my place via your blogroll link. Much appreciated as always.
Peace and blessings.
@ Preslives: The bonus tracks from this album range from about 1968 to probably the early 70's, but the original album is indeed a 1966 release.
Thank you for this album and this very good blog!

Ι never got the reason why all these albums with the original vintage covers & label logos are printed only in Japan while the only thing someone can find here is only some comps (most on independent small labels) and nothing more .... weird enough

Another superb post with an equally brilliant Lp - Thank You so much!
Thank you very much...
This brings back memories! Good ones too!! I used to play tracks from this album all the time when I DJ'd back in the 60s. 'Soul A Go-go' could fill any dance-floor anytime.
OKeh was one of those labels you could count on with almost every release without listening to it beforehand. It was THAT good a label you could. They usually sounded far ahead of their time too. Where OKeh went, others followed perhaps years after.
EXCELLENT ALBUM - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Thank you Georgie for this!!
